There’s a new hospitality company in Music City, with plans to open projects that both locals and tourists can enjoy.
Nashville-based Big Plan Holdings (BPH) has launched BPH Hospitality as its portfolio continues to grow.
“We feel it’s a very good opportunity to lean into the fabric of Nashville and provide some great new opportunities for folks to enjoy the city,” Josh Joseph, founder and CEO of Big Plan Holdings, told the Business Journal. “We certainly want to be viewed as thought leaders, be dynamic operators providing best-in-class service, be great neighbors, be wonderful employers … and build out a great platform in the hospitality space here in Nashville, in such a wonderful city.”
As a stand-alone enterprise from Big Plan Holdings, BPH Hospitality is a collection of music and entertainment, food, beverage and hospitality offerings that will be helmed by Sean Marshall, co-owner and BPH Hospitality president.
“It’s the right time for BPH Hospitality because we’ve been working very hard on it for months and almost years coming up to this point, but we’re excited to be on the eve of the launch of our first property,” Marshall said. “BPH Hospitality allows us to really build on the talent that we have and will continue to acquire, but also bring a simplicity and continuity between the brands as they roll in.”
BPH Hospitality has three concepts in its pipeline, with two on Broadway and one in the 12South neighborhood.
The first concept to open will be the Hank Williams Jr.’s Boogie Bar, welcoming guests to its three-levels and rooftop in early fall 2023.
The “Born to Boogie” singer’s name will adorn the 11,895-square-foot building at 419 Broadway, between the Ernest Tubb Record Shop and AJ’s Good Time Bar.
“As someone who’s lived in Nashville for over a decade now, I think we have a good mix of what locals want and what tourists want in terms of opening bars and restaurants across the city,” said Eric Russell, chief investment officer and principal of BPH Hospitality. “For us, it’s really about creating an environment where both locals and tourists can come together in the same space and they don’t feel like it’s one versus the other.”
The company’s second celebrity-branded Lower Broadway honky-tonk will stand five stories tall and be located at 405 Broadway, in between Merchants and Nudie’s Honky Tonk.
Lastly, the BPH Hospitality team is working on a project in the popular 12South neighborhood, at 2405 12th Ave. S., next to Buttermilk Ranch. Details have not yet emerged for the property, which Big Plan Holdings bought for $3.55 million in June.
