Hotel Saint Vincent Receives National Recognition With ABC Eagle Award
Impetus is both honored and proud to announce that the Hotel Saint Vincent historic restoration project has earned the company a national Excellence in Construction® Eagle Award. The EIC awards program is the industry’s leading competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for world-class, safe, and innovative construction projects.
Situated on Magazine Street in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District, the Hotel Saint Vincent campus includes five historically designated buildings that once served as an orphanage and most recently a hostel. As the design-assist contractor for this complex transformation, Impetus carefully renovated and preserved these existing structures that were originally constructed in 1861 as the Saint Vincent’s Asylum. Original features, such as the grand staircase and decorative wrought iron railings, were meticulously restored.
Components of the 74-room complex include world-class restaurants and bars, inviting pool with lush landscaping and cabana, balconies for every room, and a luxury gift shop. Impetus also constructed a new multi-purpose event space.

The national EIC award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect, and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries across the nation, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost.
This year’s panel included representatives from Building Owners and Managers Association International, Smithsonian Facilities Construction Division, Construction Management Association of America, Engineering News-Record, Design-Build Institute of America, and various construction-related firms nationwide.
This is Impetus’ second Eagle Award. The firm also received national recognition for the complex historic renovation of 1016 Canal Street after a fire destroyed all but the façade.
