Impetus is proud to announce that our project at the M.S. Rau Antiques building received the Excellence Award at ABC New Orleans/Bayou’s Excellence in Construction awards. EIC is the industry’s leading competition honoring general and specialty contractors for innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. The top-to-bottom transformation of the M.S. Rau gallery and building exterior features sophisticated lighting and casework from Milan, Italy. It rivals many museums even though the new space exclusively operates as a jewelry gallery.

M.S. Rau is where you will find some of the finest art, jewelry, and antiques. It has been on its Royal Street block since 1931, and the new space speaks for itself. There is nothing else like it in New Orleans. “Our jewelry is the star of the show, and it is displayed 1,000 percent better than before,” said M.S. Rau CFO Scott Ferguson told Biz New Orleans back in 2021.

We set out to create the most prestigious, unique, and world-class gallery that would house only the rarest and finest jewelry in the world. The standout feature of the expansion design is the “Crystal Palace.” It’s an oval-ellipse-shaped room created from a combination of lower base and upper display cabinets. It is wrapped with 3/8-inch laminated, curved glass and crown molding and is only accessible through a unique key fob. As a result of this expansion, M.S. Rau was able to add 10,000 items to its jewelry gallery and continue it’s over 100-year legacy of museum-like exhibits.

Impetus has won several EIC awards from ABC New Orleans/Bayou chapter and we are honored to be recognized by our amazing peers.
