AFTER OVER A YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION, THE HISTORIC RENOVATION OF M.S. RAU’S EXPANDED GALLERY SPACE IS COMPLETE
On November 15th, M.S. Rau Antiques opened the doors to its new expanded gallery space at 630 Royal Street in the French Quarter. This incredible historic renovation transformed two late-1800’s Creole buildings into 19,000 SF of new showroom space for the 105-year old company, making it one of the largest antiques dealers in the world.
We are proud to have served as the Design-Build partner on the project along with project architect, Office of Jonathan Tate. Many original features of the two identical three-story, 1800s-era Creole brick buildings were preserved, including windows, pavers, balconies, stairways, and facades. Significant repairs were made to the buildings to bring them up-to-code and ensure structural soundness, including pouring new ground floor foundations and gypcrete on upper floors.
