Overview
Creating a bike and vehicle friendly roadway.
The RNGD Infrastructure team transformed a potholed, poorly draining street into a smooth and safe roadway.
The overall project encompassed removing 170,000-square-feet of existing composite roadway and replacing with asphalt roadway.
To begin the reconstruction work, the team first removed 27,000-cubic-yards of excavation. Next, over 4,500-linear-feet of new waterlines, 8,900-linear-feet of storm drainage, and 3,500-linear-feet of sanitary sewer were installed. To rebuild the roadway, 12,000-tons of limestone and 14,000-cubic-yards of sand was installed and then topped with 7,500-tons of asphalt cement concrete paving and 3 miles of pavement striping. The final result is 5,000 feet of smooth new roadway.
