When it comes to complex historic renovations, especially in the French Quarter, RNGD is a superhero.  We have hard lessons learned working in such restricted and fragile spaces.  When Formwork Development and Quiwa Holdings needed a Design Assist contractor for the transformation of two historic French Quarter buildings—one three-story and one five-story—into 25 luxury apartment rentals located on Chartres Street, RNGD’s experience was the beacon light . The buildings were last used as Hurwitz Mintz furniture stores before being vacant for more than a decade. The renovation breathed new life into these elegant buildings.

Designed by Trapolin-Peer and completed in 2016, the renovation of this 40,000 SF space included cutting a light well into each building, adding two white-box retail spaces on the ground floor, rooftop expansions to one apartment, creating a variety of residential accessory spaces, and the build-out of a rooftop deck and amenity area for guests.
